The second season of this high-profile singing competition returns with some major changes as Britney Spears and Demi Lovato join Simon Cowell and Antonio “L.A.” Reid at the judges’ table, brought in to replace sacked judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

FBI agent Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) once again calls on the unique services of her former professor Pierce (Eric McCormack) when the only witness to a kidnapping happens to have a rare psychological disorder known as “face blindness,” in which the afflicted have an inability to recognize faces.

Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York City

Fans of the former Beatle can get a double dose tonight with two back-to-back specials, beginning with this concert of his hits performed at New York’s Citi Field. This is followed at 7 p.m. by Change Begins Within, a benefit concert featuring McCartney, Ringo Starr and others.

Francesca goes from riches to rags when the bailiffs come to her home and take everything she owns. Meanwhile, Gemma’s vow to help her husband, who is serving time in jail for murder, is tested.

Modern Family

While Alex attempts to pull her entire family together as part of a “living art” project, it seems that everyone has a problem with at least one other member of the clan in this cleverly written rerun.

The Firebird
10 p.m., Knowledge
Igor Stravinsky’s 1910 ballet based on Russian folk tales surrounding the mythical titular bird is performed by the National Ballet of Canada, recognized as one of the world’s premier troupes, in a production that balances imaginative visual effects with stunning choreography.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
10 p.m., CTV2 & CBS
D.B. Russell’s (Ted Danson) mysterious past with Finn (Elisabeth Shue) finally surfaces in this rerun of last season’s final episode in which the CSI team faces the politically precarious challenge of trying to solve the murder of the sheriff’s friend.
