This year, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man battle it out in several categories, while Channing Tatum is nominated in both dramatic and comedy categories, as well as the favourite movie actor category.
Washington Heights (New Series) 7 p.m. & 10 p.m., MTV Canada The young residents of the New York neighbourhood of Washington Heights are the focus of this new reality series. Poverty and personal history aren’t the only stumbling blocks for this diverse group of friends as they pursue their individual dreams of fame and fortune at any cost.
Barter Kings 7 p.m. & 11:01 p.m., A&EAntonio Palazzola and Steve McHugh are masters at getting what they want without spending a cent, working their way up the value ladder by bartering whatever they can get their hands on for items of increasingly greater value. In this episode, Steve must face his fear of snakes in order to pull off a deal that will result in getting a food truck for his wife.
Stars in Danger: The High Dive 8 p.m., Fox Based on a German TV series, this contest pits eight so-called celebrities (including former child actor-turned Real Housewives star Kim Richards, Jersey Shore’s Jenni “JWoww” Farley and former NFL great Terrell Owens) against each other in an Olympic-style diving competition with the help of medalist Troy Dumais, who hosts and helps train them. If you like the idea of watching D-list celebs taking a dive, then you can look forward to ABC’s similar reality show, Celebrity Diving, scheduled to debut in the spring.
Arctic Air (New Season) 9 p.m., CBC After the fatal crash that concluded last season, Bobby (Adam Beach) and the crew struggle to recover both physically and emotionally. Meanwhile, Bobby and Krista attempt to rescue a family caught in a forest fire.
