Tatiana Maslany is a mean, green lawyering machine in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Marvel's latest super-series for Disney+
Disney+ unveils its latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by introducing a new character with a family connection to the most unpredictable member of the Avengers.
Meet Jennifer Walters (played by Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany), a talented lawyer at a top law firm. She also happens to be the cousin of Dr. Bruce Banner, a.k.a. Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), who reveals that she shares his ability to transform into a larger, greener and vastly stronger version of herself.Disney+“The transformations are triggered by anger and fear,” Banner/Hulk tells her as he teaches Jennifer to master her new abilities. “Those are, like, the baseline of any woman just existing,” she quips.
As one might imagine, a massively muscular, six-foot-seven green attorney arguing cases attracts the attention of the media, who dub her She-Hulk. This nine-episode comedy series follows her efforts to navigate the pros and cons of her new reality as reluctant superhero/celebrity when her Hulk persona lands her a new gig heading up her firm’s superhuman law division.Disney+She-Hulk: Attorney at Law welcomes an array of familiar faces from previous Marvel movies, including Ruffalo as Banner/Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination (who appeared in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk), one of her primary clients, and Benedict Wong as Wong, last seen in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In addition, the cast includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry, with Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) as supervillain Titania.
“What’s so exciting about She-Hulk is this show is very different. It’s irreverent humour,” Maslany explained during a recent appearance at Comic-Con. “She-Hulk is trying not to be a superhero.”
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law debuts Thursday, Aug. 18 on Disney+
