At an Oscars show that played things extremely safe, Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis brought the fun
Will Ferrell’s mastery of the cymbols was one of the few highlights of the 2012 Oscars
With a presenting duo of Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis, it was sure likely that some funny was to follow at the Academy Awards. And the duo didn’t disappoint.
Dressed in white-on-white tuxedos, the two bashed cymbals semi-rhythmically on their way the stage, with a brief stop along the way to entertain Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. They then proceeded, where more trouble ensued.
Ferrell introduced himself with no difficulty. Galifianakis, on the other hand, had more than a little trouble with his own last name – as we all do.
They then struggled to open the envelope announcing Bret McKenzie for Best Original Song for The Muppets. This included more than one dropping of the cymbals. They ultimately got it all together…just barely.
