TV ON DVD:
Back in the 1950s, Westerns were more than a staple for TV, they made up the majority of programming. This was also true for what kids wanted to watch. While some were happy with cartoons or Howdy Doody, many wanted to ride the range with their favourite Western heroes like Roy Rogers or Gene Autry. Now, with this 3-DVD set Shout Factory has brought together episodes from many of those classic shows including The Lone Ranger, The Rifleman, Sgt. Preston of the Yukon, Annie Oakley, The Cisco Kid and others. This would go perfectly with a bowl of cereal. (Shout Factory)
Kelsey Grammer returns in his Golden Globe-winning role as tough-guy Chicago mayor Tom Kane for the second (and at this point – final) season of this drama series. While battling a terminal brain illness, Kane still manages to take on corrupt city government while slowly building an army of enemies out of his former colleagues. This 3-disc set features all 10 episodes.
As this 1980s sitcom neared its end (one more season to go), Paramount finally releases this set after a four-year hiatus. With guest stars including Courtney Cox, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Robert Klein, this 28-episode 4-disc set is a must-have for fans. (Paramount)
Chloe Sevigny has always been an actress that you couldn’t pin down, and after a five-season run as one of the sister-wives on Big Love and a shocking supporting role on this season’s American Horror Story, she took on this 6-part British drama as Mia, a pre-op transsexual assassin. When she discovers that she has a child she never knew she had fathered, she tries to juggle her career as a hired killer to travel to rural England to get to know her son. (eOne)
