Honouring conscious Canadian brands working to make life more beautiful responsibly
At BCLiving and Simply Beautiful, we strive to celebrate the best of Canadian beauty, with a firm dedication to natural and responsible brands. From organic skin care to biodegradable packaging, we have celebrated great Canadian beauty brands in our seasonal subscription boxes—and now we want to celebrate your consumer offering.
This spring—to commemorate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22nd—we are proud to introduce the Simply Beautiful Awards. Our panel of expert judges will review and award some of the country’s leading beauty purveyors, companies that are making a difference to the environment and to consumers alike.
As we move forward in our quest to make Canada a better, cleaner place, we are searching for companies and products that share the collective goal of making life for Canadians consumers more beautiful naturally.
To take part and share your wares now, see the full details below and FAQs.
A submission fee of $50 CDN per product applies to all entries.
The deadline for all submissions is March 26, 2018.
To participate, entrants must supply five full-size, complimentary samples of each product. Mailing instructions for these samples will be delivered in a separate email delivered to entrants upon completion of the submission form below.
In addition, no submitted products will be considered if the ingredients include any of the Dirty Dozen toxins discussed by judge Cadi Jordan in BCLiving here. Products containing any of these 12 harmful ingredients will be immediately disqualified.
All submitted products must be manufactured in Canada.
Entrants may submit only one product for consideration in each of the five categories below.
1. Hair Care
2. Body Care
3. Makeup
4. Face Skin Care
5. Supplements
1. Complete the entry form.
2. Once you submit your application, you will receive the product submission form via email (it could take up to 15 minutes—grab a cup of tea). Complete the form and submit it.
3. Once you've completed the production submission form, you will receive an email with instructions for mailing product samples.
BCLiving and Simply Beautiful are proud to partner with expert judges who work at the very forefront of the ethical beauty movement in Canada. Judges will utilize the Think Dirty app and the Environment Working Group's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database as well as their own expertise to reach decisions on both finalists and—ultimately—winners in each category.
Decisions in each category are at the collective discretion of independent judges, and solely the independent judges. The editorial team of BCLiving and Simply Beautiful have no involvement in the selection of finalists and/or winning entries. As such, previous, existing or future sponsorships, advertising and partnerships have no weight in the decision-making process.
To learn more about our judges, read their profiles.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE is March 26, 2018.
FINALISTS will be announced by BCLiving on or before April 16, 2018.
WINNERS will be announced by BCLiving on or before April 20, 2018.
