Eastside Flea – Friday, October 21 to Sunday, October 23

Held every second weekend in the fall, the Eastside Flea brings together a diverse group of 50 local vendors selling everything from handmade products and local food to vintage pieces and quirky antiques. Friday night is a Halloween-themed Shop and Bop featuring DJs while the weekend includes a special vinyl records sale. Food trucks and pool tables provide a fun break from shopping.

MEZZI Sample Sale – Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22

Local fashion start-up turned successful brand MEZZI makes wearable tech for women, with a range of handbags that have built-in phone chargers that play music and notify you when you get a call. For two days, the ecommerce site has a sample sale in the city: head there for discount deals on bags.

Beerlesque VI – Saturday, October 22

Celebrate beer and burlesque at the sixth annual pairing of sparkle and froth. Sample some of B.C.’s best craft beers and feast your eyes on unique performances by some of the city’s most talented performers.  All proceeds go to Roundhouse Community Programs.

River District Vancouver Drive-In Movie Series, Halloween Edition – Saturday, October 22 and Friday, October 28

Cuddle up in the car with spooky screenings of Hotel Transylvania 2 (7 p.m.) and Alien (9:30 p.m.) on October 22 and Edward Scissorhands (7 p.m.) and The Blair Witch Project (9:30 p.m.) on October 28. Food trucks and snack bars are onsite to stock up on (tricks) and treats for the movies.

Cider Tap Takeover – now until Saturday, October 22

The Cascade Room welcomes six B.C.-based cideries for a special Cider Tap Takeover as part of BC CiderWeek 2016, hosted by the Northwest Cider Association. Taste local ciders from the interior and the Island and chow down on cider-inspired food from Chef Tim Evans.

Superhuman Summit – Saturday, October 22

Haunted Saloon – Sunday, October 23

Be prepared to get scared at the East Van Showcase’s Halloween special. Dress up and check out horror movies from around the world and four local short films. There will even be a virtual reality section to scare you in a frighteningly realistic way in the Virtual Insanity chamber.

Collaboration Dinner: Fish Fight! Andrea Carlson vs. Robert Belcham – Tuesday, October 25

Friends Andrea Carlson (executive chef and owner of Burdock & Co) and Robert Belcham (executive chef and owner of Campagnolo) face off for the ultimate seafood showdown: a collaborative, ocean-inspired dinner packed with sustainable eats and handcrafted naturalist wines.

After Hours at the Aquarium – Thursday, October 27

Get spooked with the sharks at the Vancouver Aquarium’s Halloween-themed After Hours event. Come in costume to explore the aquarium and meet creepy sea critters, get hands-on with sea urchins in the Wet Lab and enjoy a drink while listening to Whale Tales.
