Sports enthusiast and journalist Ian Walker embarks on an all-new adventure: his very own online channel
He’s lived through professional football and baseball tryouts, not to mention a very public marriage and divorce to Canadian punk rock icon Bif Naked. He’s covered the Olympics, the Stanley Cup, Memorial Cup and Grey Cup finals.
And let’s not forget the Canadian Cannonball Championships — where he finished third, mind you.
But none of these challenges compare to the one on which Vancouver media personality Ian Walker is now embarking. After a successful 12-year career as a sportswriter with the Vancouver Sun, WalkerBigTalker is literally putting his money where his mouth is by quitting his day job to pursue his greatest quest to date: to create his own online television talk show, WalkerBigTalkerTV.
On his original YouTube series, Walker brings you along with him as he weaves around the pitfalls and hurdles the challenges of his bold new undertaking.
Vlogs will allow you to share in his successes and failures, not to mention offer a sideline seat to Walker’s growth as a person. You see, WalkerBigTalker TV is not strictly a sports talk show.
You’ll witness real conversation, not a scripted Q&A, shot in unique locations specially picked by Walker. In each energetic episode, Walker’s strengths from his sports reporting days — namely humour, interviewing and those big blue eyes — are in full evidence.
First up: WalkerBigTalkerTV visits former L.A. Kings goalie Billy Ranford for the answer to that burning question: How many beers can the Stanley Cup hold?
Watch for new episodes each Tuesday.
